Christina โChristyโ Follis
Owasso
Piano
My name is Christy Follis and I have been teaching piano lessons for 22 years. I have been
playing the piano for 42 years. I graduated from Cincinnati Christian University with a Bachelor
of Music degree, piano performance major. Likewise, I completed a Music Therapy Equivalency Program at Oral Roberts University, fulfilling the requirements and passing the CBMT exam to become a board certified, licensed professional music therapist in the state of Oklahoma, actively practicing music therapy throughout the Tulsa, OK area. Within piano lessons, I teach music theory as well as piano playing and technic. I try to make learning as fun and creative as possible. My teaching style and environment is very relaxed and casual. But, the students will learn a lot about "what you play" and "how you play it". My goal is for students to feel valued, seen, encouraged, and respected for their own musical achievements, strengths, individuality, creations, expressions, and accomplishments.

I love sharing the joy of music with people of all ages! Since becoming a licensed Music Togetherยฎ center director and teacher in 2022, it has been a gift to help families create musical memories with their newborns, infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Every child is born musical, and it is a privilege to support parents and caregivers as they nurture their little onesโ musical development through singing, instrument play, and movement in playful, engaging weekly classes, all while building friendships and community with other families.
