
SPINDLER-LYNCH PIANO AWARDS
PURPOSE
To encourage high standards of performance among young people and to give recognition to those who strive for excellence. This event provides competitive performance experience for students in grades 5/6, 7/8, 9/10, and 11/12.

REPERTOIRE REQUIREMENTS
One memorized solo piano composition originally written for the piano. Music of the masters is strongly encouraged. Pieces entered must have been taught by the teacher entering the student.
Students may not enter literature they have played in a previous Spindler-Lynch competition.
COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS
CATEGORIES & PRIZES
A student may enter one time in each grade represented within Categories. (Maximum of two years in each category).
Performance time may not exceed ten minutes. If performance exceeds the time limit the student will be stopped but not disqualified.
Students who audition for the TAMTA Camp Scholarship and Senior Scholarship auditions are disqualified from entering the Spindler-Lynch Competition in the same year.

*Participant's teacher must have been a TAMTA member since June 30, 2025.
All repertoire is subject to approval. Changes to repertoire must be approved by March 28, 2026.
